A scheduling app for a music school, designed around the one job the office actually struggled with — keeping student payment records straight.
Scheduling apps are easy to over-design. This one earns its keep by being boring in the right places: a calendar you can read at a glance, and a payment record that never makes the office cross-check two systems.
The job to be done
A music school runs on a grid of recurring lessons, and the admin cost is not the scheduling — it is reconciling who attended and who has paid. The app treats the calendar as the entry point and the payment record as the thing it protects, rather than bolting billing on at the end.
The whole flow, on one wall
Before any surface was styled, the flow was drawn end to end — onboarding, login, booking and records — so the gaps showed up on paper instead of in the build. Laying every state out at once is also the fastest way to spot screens that are doing two jobs at once.
